The Healthcare Technology (HealthTech) Research Centre (HRC) in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Medicine is spearheaded by one of the UK’s most research-active NHS Trusts, Guy's and St Thomas' Foundation Trust, known for its pioneering first-in-patient and multi-centre clinical trials, in collaboration with King’s College London. As global leaders in developing innovative technology interventions, we focus on reducing healthcare inequalities and improving care for patients locally, nationally, and internationally.
The HRC builds on our existing expertise to advance the development of novel technologies, devices, diagnostics, and digital solutions aimed at enhancing health and care. Our goal is to accelerate the translation of these new technologies into clinical practice for the benefit of patients in the local area, across London, and throughout the UK. We work closely with leading HealthTech companies and patient and carer groups specializing in cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
Our research spans four critical clinical areas essential to the advancement of treatments in cardiovascular and respiratory medicine. These research themes are supported by a cross-cutting Methodology theme, which develops technological approaches and support systems to enable the successful translation of HealthTech innovations into clinical settings.
